On one hand we had a classic birthday party for my good friend Yvonne. Lots of food, booze and cake served up in a large Elks Lodge in Hoboken. On the other hand we had the added bonus of a night filled with music and beheaded antlers. I spent most of the night drinking and snapping pictures of amazing performances by Queen V, Downshallow, High Speed Chase and Pale Horse. The sound good and loud. The lighting was piss-poor, but perfect for my warped eye.

I’ve written plenty about what I feel about most of these bands. They all rocked and pissed off the jealous musician in side of me with their constant perfection. New to me was the music of Queen V. She was very commanding, standing alone with an acoustic guitar and rocking harder than most four piece bands. It was a great way to start the night. I got to party with old friends and make a few new ones. The end of the night would come early in the morning following a mellower finale in the basement bar.
