Waiting for the Bus

Line? What line?

I cannot figure out why folks in Hoboken have such a hard time with the concept of waiting on a line. No matter what time of the day, or which stop we’re at, folks here all stand around in a large blob waiting for the bus.

Line? What line?

I cannot figure out why folks in Hoboken have such a hard time with the concept of waiting on a line. No matter what time of the day, or which stop we’re at, folks here all stand around in a large blob waiting for the bus. Then when it comes, there is little regard for who was here first. It’s a kill or be killed mentality as they scramble for that first step into the bus.

It’s the same thing when folks are waiting for the bus in the Port Authority to come to Hoboken. It’s not something I’ve experienced at any other gate on any other platform. And I’ve taken my share of buses in my time. So is it something in the water? The air? Does the name of the town evoke some evil spirit that causes people to lose all sense of courtesy? What?!?!
