Things to Remember : Ways to Forget
New release from The Base
True genius is found subtly hidden between bar chords and back beat; between hollers and volume. And it's in that shadowy place where The Base truly excels.

The $2.00 Bud Special Blues
I want to get drunk but how I don't know cause I'm busted
I still have no regrets about leaving the politically-crooked and stress-ridden world of corporate publishing. In fact, I recently got even more infuriated with the whole thing when I noticed something my previous employer did. After waiting for me to leave the company, they went ahead and implemented some of the systems I had been fighting for over the five plus years I was there. This of course gives someone higher up the chance to take credit for it. The news just served to further validate my decision to leave all that bullshit behind.

Reconnecting with Old Friends
I found something else that My Space is good for other than porn spam and error messages from Tom
I know I do complain about My Space a lot. Let's face it, their system sucks. The site is always having some problem or another. The fact that they allow HTML in the profiles means morons can have dancing hamsters and videos and glitter and music and slideshows and all at the same time. Then, when you come across one of these profiles, you sit forever waiting as it locks up your PC. Not to mention the those who place dark text on a dark background so you can't even read their pages.

Bon Voyage Lost Girls!
Ditching corporate America for an adventure of a lifetime
My friend Holly, along with 'Lost Girls' Amanda and Jen, are leaving on quite an adventure today. They ditched their jobs to travel the world in search of inspiration and to have a bit of fun along the way.

The Wedding Crasher
You hear about things like this, but only in the movies
Honestly, who has actually ever gone thru with crashing a wedding? Sure it sounds like fun. You wait until the dance floor is full and the crowd is sufficiently intoxicated, then make your move. Chug a few drinks, mingle carefully and either get lucky or split before you get caught. At least that is the Hollywood version.

Breaking into Churches, Dancing in the Streets
Quiet or you'll wake Jesus … and the neighbors
It was a nice night for me. No bands to see. No agenda other than to have fun. It was my friend Michelle's birthday and a bunch of Hoboken regulars would be holding court at Louise & Jerry's (329 Washington St. Hoboken). Those who read my stuff know how I feel about this place. Give me a rowdy cluster of real folks in a small place with cheap drinks and a stocked jukebox over a glossy club filled with glossy people any day.

What the Chappelle?
Does his career really warrant a two hour interview with James Lipton?
I was flipping thru the channels the other night and noticed that 'Inside the Actor's Studio' was a two hour special. I thought maybe they were doing a retrospective of great actors or maybe a tribute to one person in particular. After all, this organization is such a well respected mainstay of the acting community…
