First Things First:
This is not your typical free-for-all
link site. Yes it is free, but not just anyone can list here.
I am very particular (some may say a bit snobbish) about
that.
This is a harkening back to the good old days of the mail
underground with just a pinch of technology. Back in the
dark ages before the internet we had to actually write letters
and mail hand-made flyers, zines, cassettes (yeah ... no
CDs) and whatnot to friends all over God’s creation.
Then those friends, if they dug you and/or what you were
doing, they would copy whatever you sent and forward to more
friends. Then they would send you a bunch of stuff.
And so on.
Simply put, if you want to get to know those listed on this
site then you need to contact them directly. Mail, email,
phone, carrier pigeon ... whatever. This is not a popularity
contest where you just gather up links and pix of the people
you think make you look cool. We have MySpace.com for that.
Instead this is meant to allow those who are passionate about
independent, creative expression to network with and support
one another in a more intimate, real world setting.
In doing it this way I am hoping to create a tighter community
that is more like a family rather than a list of numerous
(and often anonymous) so-called friends. And I’ll know
if you are just trying to get on here solely for the sake
of self-promotion. Not that there is anything wrong with
that. After all I am a total promotional whore. But, if you
don’t
spread he love around, then you will have missed the whole
point of this.
So, if you want to be added there are a few simple guidelines
you must follow. I will never ask for money, so I think you
can handle it.
Send a Sample of Your Work:
Just sending
me a listing for inclusion is not enough. I will be judging
you on at least two crucial points. One is that I should
like whatever it is that you do. More importantly it must
be clear that you have helped others in you neck of the
industry. Samples can be a physical product, a link to
a site, a press package, etc.

One sure way to prove to me that you are supporting the indie-creative
scene is to actually promote my site.

Build Relationships:
This should include mutual promotion with others on the
network. Or you can start up a pen-pal, email-pal, carrier
pigeon-pal (yeah I’m a little obsessed with the
pigeons, sorry).
What I Say Goes:
All decisions about what will or will not be listed are
made by me and are subject to my own quirky and unpredictable
likes and/or dislikes. Don’t be offended if you don’t
get in right away. I may need to be further convinced for
one reason or another. Maybe you didn’t make your
case strong enough and you should try again.

Send Your Listing:
All listings are limited to 40 words or less.
If you can’t get it right,
I will cut it short and it might wind up sounding silly.
Also, there will be no vying for top ranking. This is not
Google ... you can’t
pay to get to the top of a list. All listings are presented
in alphabetical
order only in
there respective categories. Feel free to
suggest new categories if you feel it necessary. If you
want, you can pay to run an ad on the site.
