Cracklin’ Rosie on Mobile Phones

Yes iPhone, Android & Windows can play nice. This guy in Belgium takes some phones, tapes them to a plank, wires them up and pays tribute to Neil Diamond!

iPhone, Android & Windows can play nice

There’s this guy in Belgium called Steffest. He had this idea of building what he called The Phone Guitar after his original idea of creating a true, cross-platform music app was unsuccessful. He instead created three separate apps using Java for Android, C# for Windows Mobile and Objective-C for iPhone.

Still wanting them to play as one (somewhat) cohesive unit inspired him to tape them to a plank of wood. Then, using a multitude of cables, he patched them all into a battery-powered speaker. He added the Pocket Stompbox virtual amp for Windows Mobile and the iShred iPhone app.

Soon The Phone Guitar came to life—as did this tribute to Neil Diamond.

That is one amazing video. I’d like to see the band. It would be a novelty band, but I bet it would spread on Twitter and FaceBook and YouTube like wildfire.
