Sure there’s still no parade. And yes, people are still not thrilled about the booze fest that is the first Saturday in March. But that is exactly why the Hoboken Irish Festival came to be. As a way for Irish traditions and family fun to meet with authentic music and some cold-flowing spirits — and a little sport as well.
What we have is a well-rounded afternoon for all and not the fall-down travesty that so many Americanized heritage celebrations have become (Cinco de Mayo, St Paddy’s Day, etc). This is meant to be a time of celebration in the truest sense, with a li’l bit of something for everyone to enjoy.

Food & Drink
In addition to food vendors, there will be a beer garden sponsored by Finnegan’s Pub. In years past, beer drinkers were forced to remain inside a designated, tiny drinking corral. Rumor has it however that this year you will be permitted to walk thru the park with your drink in hand.
On top of all of that, the event will also feature sheep shearing and wool spinning demonstrations and vendors with Irish clothing and crafts.
