Is Bob Dylan on Better Junk?

Quirky carol feeds homeless, raises questions.

I can’t decide if this rapid-fire, intelligible, polka-like holiday ditty is proof that Bob Dylan is clean or just using better quality junk. I mean, when has he ever sung so fast? And don’t say “Subterranean Homesick Blues” because this is way faster. Unless you’re referring to the version by Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Check it out below and, despite my jesting, this is part of Dylan’s latest charitable venture to feed the homeless during the holidays. From the website:

“All of the artist’s U.S. royalties from sales of these recordings will be donated to Feeding America, guaranteeing that more than four million meals will be provided to more than 1.4 million people in need this year’s holiday season.”

If you’re like me, you’ll continue to wonder what the musical hype over Dylan is all about. As a social hero and poet, yes I get it. Musically? Well, that’s a discussion for another time. Buy me a beer or two and maybe I’ll tell you how I was booed at a Dylan tribute night. Or the time a high-ranking exec from Sony Nashville shunned me for certain comments I made about the “genius” of Dylan.
