Manson’s Phone Calls As Art

Brooklyn-based artist David Pierce interprets the ramblings of a madman

David Pierce expresses his creativity across different media. Whether it’s as DJ Mayonnaise Hands in a series of wacky videos, or working with Julia Allison conducting awkwardly funny street interviews, or as a designer, or as a serious visual artist.

What sets David apart as an artist is his ability to do move with ease between the madcap and the poetic. Sometimes, you may even find him somewhere in between the two. Such as with ‘Interpretation of Charles Manson’s Phone Calls From Prison‘.

When I first saw the title, I thought it was a joke or a play on words or something. Until I looked further. It’s a simple post of two pieces. They each contain stark imagery and a line presumably from ol’ crazy Charlie’s phone calls.

And while I don’t claim to have ever had a phone conversation with Charles Manson, there is a certain feeling of reality coming thru these two images.
