Summer Kickoff
Two great local music festivals in NY & NJ
Everyone thinks of Memorial Day as the official start of summer. That may be true for tourism and giftshops, but according to the seasonal calendar, the true start of summer is this weekend. And what better way to ring in the season of grit, heat, water and sweat then with some great local music.
Wave Gathering
June 20 - 22, 2008
Asbury Park, NJ
Wave Gathering takes place weekend of June 20 - 22, 2008. Over 175 acts will perform in over two dozen venues around Asbury Park. Many local restaurants and galleries will be showcasing a variety of art as well. Much of the festivities will begin Friday night at 7:00. For more, check out wavegathering.com.
Make Music New York

Make Music New York is NYC's largest music event with 850 free performances on the streets, sidewalks, parks, community gardens and more throughout the five boroughs. First off the "commenting" in "commenting help" is spelled wrong. 2. Does adding photos really constitute a "new homepage"? And C, how come all this great stuff is going on on My Nephew's First Birthday weekend. I mean I could do a weekend tour with the Fave, for christ's sake!
Oh yeah, IV, if you do go to the "Wavefest" I'll be at the Miss TK & the Revenge show at the Saint, 10:00 on Saturday, though the Defibulators are playing the same slot at the Wonder Bar.

1) Thank you Sir Spellcheck. It shall be fixed.
2) Those without A.D.D.–who can see past the pretty pictures–will notice a new box for updates, random links from my network and a featured link.
3) The Fave actually planned it this way. They waited until the birth of your nephew to schedule this weekend's shows.
4) Sadly I will not be getting to Asbury Park this weekend.
