While My Ukulele Gently Weeps

Jake Shimabukuro in Central Park tearin' it up

Earlier this year I was at Ukulele Cabaret at Jimmy's, NYC. While there I was exposed to many different forms of ukulele expression. In the course of my discussions and discoveries, I was told about this video of someone ripping up the ukulele on a jazzed version of 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps'.

When I got home and watched this guy Jake Shimabukuro effortlessly tearing thru this George Harrison gem in Central Park, I was floored. I recently rediscovered the video on YouTube. Just watch it for yourself. Forget that it's a ukulele and realize that, no matter what stringed instrument he chose, this would be an equally amazing performance.
