‘Break It and Breathe’ by The Majestic Twelve

The Revolution has reached Hoboken

So there I was last night, standing in line for the bathroom at The Goldhawk. I was suddenly aware of my foot tapping to this catchy little ditty on their CD player. To my delighted surprise it was ‘Break It and Breath’ by The Majestic Twelve!!

So there I was last night, standing in line for the bathroom at The Goldhawk (936 Park Ave, Hoboken). I was suddenly aware of my foot tapping to this catchy little ditty on their CD player. To my delighted surprise it was ‘Break It and Breath’ by The Majestic Twelve!!

Now I know I’ve told a lot of people about this amazing band fronted by my good friend and WE Fest honcho Kenyata Sullivan. I even have a banner in rotation on my site for folks to get a free download copy of their album ‘Schizophrenology’. So I was pleasantly surprised when I asked club owner Fran Azzarto where they got their copy.

He told me the coolest thing. The fact was, he had no idea where he got it. Basically, the Goldhawk music library is in the form of a ton of CDs burned full of songs the owners like. So even though Fran can’t remember where he got it he did say, “Well if it’s good, we get it.” Best answer ever!

So I wanted to tell anyone who didn’t know that The Majestic Twelve Revolution clearly has a life of its own … and it has reached New Jersey. If you are not familiar with their work, then go to their site, get their CD and become familiar. Because sooner or later, you’re gonna hear it anyway somewhere, some time when you least expect it. Like on line for the bathroom.

…Or on Lazlo’s Den (www.lazlosden.com), as I seem to play that song about once a week on the show. It’s such a great song.
