The funky, folk tunes of the mutli-talented Ross Sandler always brings a smile to my ears. I met Ross many moons ago. He was dancing like a marionette with a guitar, spewing his politically-tinged jewels of life at a Hoboken open mic.

One day years later, an unlikely pairing gave birth to an amazing creative vehicle. Ross brought his laid-back, free-spirited style to the forceful, Mack truck power of Crewman Number Six.

His latest solo effort ‘Oranges, Yellows’, is reminiscent of those earlier days in Hoboken. Loose, free and lulling you into a meditative state. Just enough to let the message sink in. Such as on the song ‘Wama Jus’.

And he still dances like a marionette.
