Not too long ago, Morgan Chen–who used to sit at the helm of one my fave bands Skyline Rodeo–sent me a CD from his new project called baldguyblacksuit! Now, I’m not normally one to frivolously toss around an exclamation point (or two), but even if it wasn’t a part of their name, I’d recommend tacking it on. This stuff definitely deserves a fair amount of punctuational excitement.
Self-described as “Ween pumped up on Slayer ripping off Fugazi.” Yep, that’ll do. Their E.P. ‘Demoo’ is filled with the same unique inventiveness of the past with the added (or would that be subtracted) bonus of a stripped-down, raw production. I’m curious now to see where these guys take this next.
