Music has the power to churn up all sorts of emotions. After a break up you might cry when you hear ‘Wang Dang Sweet Poon Tang’. Or perhaps during the holidays you’ll get into a festive mood while listening to ‘Walking ‘Round in Women’s Underwear’. But whatever the occasion, people often turn to music for nostalgia or comfort or both.

I was feeling a bit down in the dumps today for no particular reason. It’s just been one of those days. Well, ok … a couple of days. Anyway, I put on my little headphones, hit play on my iPod and the first song to play was ‘Powder Your Face with Sunshine’ by Dean Martin. Yes I have Dean Martin on my iPod, big whoop … wanna fight about it!?

“Future’s brighter
hearts are lighter
when you’re wearing
a great big smile.”

This was the perfect sentiment to make my day a bit more bearable. It made me smile and actually broke me out of my funk. Eager to work and less irritable, I was able to get thru my day with ease. Ain’t that a kick in the head?! Thanks Dino.
