Queen ‘Sheer Heart Attack’ Video Contest

As part of the band’s 40th Anniversary celebrations, Queen are asking aspiring videographers to create a new video for an old song.

Are you a Queen fan? Do you have an eye for placing visuals to music? Do you want to see your name splashed across the band’s social landscape? If you answered yes to any or all of these, then you should sign up for Queen’s ‘Sheer Heart Attack’ Video Contest.

It’s part of the band’s ongoing 40th anniversary celebrations. Judging the submissions will be guitarist Brian May, drummer Roger Taylor and video director David Mallet. The winning video will be featured on Queen’s official website as well as their Facebook and YouTube pages. The winner will also receive $1,500 and a special Queen gift pack.

It’s a pretty sweet contest. I just hope you can do a better job than the live video the band presented as fodder for entrants. Well, as much as the video does kinda suck, entrants are allowed to take bits of this footage and use it in their original creation.

It’s hard to believe that this will be the first original Queen video since ‘Under Pressure’ in 1999. It’s amazing how time flies.
