Website Update
Wow! That's all I can say … Wow! I can't believe it's been over a month since doing one of these updates. Of course I've been pretty busy and have a lot to show for it. So sit back, relax and read about all my fun. Especially my weekend in Atlantic City.
Travel:
A fantastic weekend despite a few hotel shortcomings. Proof once again that a great trip is made by the people, not necessarily the destination.
Photos from an amazing weekend with friends. People who can't have fun on a trip due to some minor setbacks never traveled with my friends.
Featured Songs:
Self-described as "Ween pumped up on Slayer ripping off Fugazi," it's stripped-down, raw inventiveness.
It's shorts wearin', sandal tappin', feel good music … and one of the most uplifting songs around.
Food & Drink:
Noise, spice, beer and a mysterious stain on my shirt. When smatterings of food plans were being made, I had almost decided to go home. Glad I didn't.
What happened when I ignored my impulse to say no. I just wanted to go home, write a little and sleep a lot. But that's not how it would be.
Taking a NY break from Beijing life. My friend Jennifer was in town for a visit before returning to her Chinese adventure.
Quaint, veggie friendly, organic goodness for lunch. There are things on the menu most men never consider. Like mesclun greens and orzo (wtf).
A cool chill party on Avenue C and then dancing. Teneleven is a relaxed, hip little spot with funky drinks and good music. Lit is a hot, underground grind.
Celebrating 98 years of street food, games, music. Why do we come to these things? Plush Spongebob Squarepants? Oversized 'Kiss Me I'm Italian' tees?
Politics:
An interesting idea, but what about illegal parking? I'd stop criticizing the Hoboken Police Dept's odd habits, but they keep coming up with new ones.
NY'er smarty-pants expect too much from us? They say it's social commentary on how the republicans have been portraying Mr. and Mrs. Obama.
Weirdness:
One of the more original virtual come-ons I've gotten. We've all seen those 'date me' spam emails supposedly from lonely hot girls. This one takes the cake.
