I first was introduced to the lush and dramatic sound of Stand at a show in Brooklyn in March 2007. Having seen them a couple of times, I can attest to an amazing connection with their fans. One of their shows feels more like a summer picnic with friends. Everyone drinking, singing along and playfully heckling.

Their album ‘Travel Light’ is a collection of atmosphere, rhythm and melody. Building on that, this Dublin/NYC troupe brings contrasting textures along with a subtle mix of grit, passion and style. The songs are filled with emotion and a real sense of storytelling without ever feeling contrived.

Their next show is this coming Saturday (2/23) at Bowery Ballroom, NYC.
