I was sitting by the bar, minding my own business playfully flirting with Love Sexy’s lovely new bartender when my ear was snagged. The beautifully distorted acoustic musings of Lach pulled me in.
The talent of a songwriter can be measured by frequency and voracity in which your head bops in amen to a set of lyrics. The talent of a performer is shown by the flailing of the body in symphony with those amens. All the while keeping you alert by shifting between whimsical sarcasm, brave honesty and balls out energy.
Lach is a staple in the NY Antifolk scene. A scene comprised of those who have been blessed with both the ability to write songs of substance and deliver them with an unforgiving vengeance. This is showcased nicely both live and on Lach’s CD “Kids Fly Free” on Fortified Records.
