Music – Film – Art – Literature
This year was essentially a return to roots for the Indie-rific Wilmington Exchange Festival. Much like the early days in the late 90s, we saw the return of zines and films to the roster. There were also some new additions such as a huge multi-day art gallery provided by The Big Art Show, comedy and for the first time ever, simultaneous showcases featuring over 70 bands. The venue once again was the amazingly awesome, multi-level Soapbox Laundro-Lounge (255 N Front St. Wilmington, NC). Because of my own problems, I had some anxiety—not about WE Fest—about the trip.
