Smart songs with an added bonus of a syncopated frying pan.
Seriously. That is DC’s Beauty Pill. Well, that and a nice mix of counterpoint guitar, tight rhythm and inventive vocals. There’s a unique tension in the eccentricity of their sound that pulls you in closer. I’ve really been diggin’ their 2001 ep “The Cigarette Girl from the Future”. I’ll have to get their other CDs.
