Coolest Independent Radio on the Web
OK I have to take a moment to say God bless Rob Sacher (owner of the Luna Lounge) and his kick-ass web radio network Radio-Indie-Pop.com! I can always be sure to hear stuff I love and today is no different.
The site has made some great additions including an all Ramones channel, favorite unsigned band, favorite new artist debut release and an Alt. Country channel. Right now I’m listening to ‘Head On’ by The Jesus and Mary Chain and it’s bringing me back to happier times dancing like a fool at the Pipeline in Newark (sadly a parking lot now). Lots of New Pornographers, Dandy Warhols and even established acts like Radiohead and The Band get played here. It is a very well rounded set of music with plenty to keep your ears occupied.
I also heard two local NYC area bands that are favorites of mine. The Shapes and Sparks Fly From a Kiss. I told Dmitry of The Shapes that one thing I’ve learned about Mr. Sacher is if he likes a band, he supports them. Keep up the good work Rob!! I hope you’ll be opening your club again soon … this city needs you man!
