Their sound is as lush as the Pacific Northwest they call home. Um OK, yeah that was really corny, I know. Sorry. Anyway, thanks to my good friends at Organic Entertainment for sending this my way.

For a band based in Seattle, they certainly have a healthy fascination with NYC. Then again, who doesn’t? Songs like ‘Five Train’ and several others on their album ‘Small Town’ paint vivid pictures of what I can only assume are either frequent, extended visits to our fair city, or someone lived here at some point.

Combining counterpoint, full orchestral sounds, deep reverberating harmonies and a fine sense of melody, ‘Small Town’ is a very interesting listen. With roots firmly set in experimental arrangements, there is a lot going on here. Still it’s not overbearing and the hooks are happily both easy to find and hard to forget.
