I first heard the music of Brooklyn’s Square Wave Punch thru an acoustic performance by singer/guitarist Sean Kiely. I was delighted not to long after to catch the full electric experience.
Their sound may be reminiscent of 90s underground but it is altogether original. Your brain and your limbs will feel oddly at ease as they each have something equal to revel in. The vocal phrasing of clever words and staccato barre chords dance in a friendly maelstrom with counterpoint bass and drums.
