I was sitting with headphones firmly implanted in my ears (as usual) when this song came on. I started to think about how long it’s been since I’ve hung out with my friend JD Duvall. I pictured him locked away somewhere writing new music. Either that or he was off watching some lawyers wrestling in Jell-O (it’s a long story).

‘Rise’–from the CD ‘Blood Red Moon’–is a perfect showcasing of JD’s fiery style. The equally passionate guitar and voice careen thru a searing, ethereal space. It’s as if the essences of Pink Floyd, Jeff Buckley, Led Zeppelin and Michael Hedges were sliced, diced, pureed and reanimated into this new creature.
