One of the many new additions to Convention Hall, it hugs the outer south and east sides, right on the beach. This too was not here on my last visit just a year and a half ago. We decided to stop by to check it out for lunch.
The large cabana feel is accentuated with daybeds and sofas offering spectacular views of the beach and ocean. They were supposed to have direct access to the beach, and you could see the newly built stairs leading down to the sand. However, they barricaded. I could imagine that trying to keep freeloaders from getting on to the beach without paying would be tough if all they had to do was walk thru the dining area.
The best thing about The Beach Bar, aside from the view, would be the seriously cold beer. Perfectly refreshing on a hot day. The food was decent as well. Good salsa. Good guacamole. Good chicken panini.
