Finally, a place where I can feel young. Seriously. There aren’t many places where I can go to anymore and be the whippersnapper. Tim McLoone’s Supper Club is located upstairs from The Salt Water Beach Café in the old Howard Johnson’s building. A hip and cool lounge filled with music and spirited ribbing among the musicians. It’s a place where The Rat Pack could have called home.

We were being entertained by Tim McLoone and his band The Shirleys. As the night drew on, the music got looser and the jabs got slightly more R-rated. It really felt like a room at the Catskills, but in a very good way. The tunes were of the typical lounge repertoire of standards and a few surprises here and there.

The drinks were pricey but potent and the energy in the room was electric. Especially when the show was ending and the band members were calling out requests. I have a feeling that they could have gone all night. They didn’t, but I bet they could have.
