Watermark has this sorta NYC juxtaposition vibe going on. You know the kind of upscale Manhattan place that fuses two diametrically opposed themes to create something new. Here it’s that sorta ultra-modern log cabin feel. Cush seating and dark and light wood mingle with stark lines and soft light of the beach and the flicker of a fireplace. And it all works.

The place has it’s share of pricey specialty drinks such as Pineapple Infused Rum and a Spicy Strawberry Margarita. However, they have an amazing array of happy hour specials that are just as tasty and priced more reasonably. Plus $3 beer and wine for $5/glass or $15/bottle. We didn’t eat here, but our couch mates — a group of women from NYC — told us the food was very good.

Despite the rumors, there is actually no Jersey City connection here. The owner of Watermark also owns a place called Baker Boys, a specialty bake shop in Convention Hall. He is not the same person who used to own the similarly named The Baker Boys in Jersey City. It’s actually a question they get a lot here.
