Last night when a bunch of us could not get into the bar we wanted due to a private party, we ended up at Heartland Brewery (51st Street & 6th Avenue, NYC). I had Farmer John’s Oatmeal Stout. Very impressive. Dark, creamy with a touch of dark chocolate and espresso.
Normally I don’t go for chocolate beer and God knows I hate even the slightest hint of a coffee taste. However this was just subtle enough. Still I wasn’t quite sure if I liked it … so I had a few more and tossed in a round of Jameson straight up just for good measure.
