Fighting the good fight with music and unity

AIDS Walk New York is a powerful and inspiring day in Central Park and on the streets of New York City. In addition to everything going on today, you can catch the music of two bands of my friends. The Fave (noon) and Gold Streets (1:15). Both are playing in Central Park.

On May 17, 2009, we will honor those who continue to fight, embrace new allies, remember loved ones lost, and work to realize a future without AIDS.

Since 1986, AIDS Walk New York has raised more than $105 million for HIV programs and services in the tri-state area, and has grown into the largest AIDS fundraising event in the world.

In 2008 alone, 45,000 participants, many of whom were members of 2,450 corporate and community teams, raised a record sum of over $7 million for Gay Men’s Health Crisis (GMHC) and 50 other local AIDS service organizations.
