When the video begins, it looks as if it will be a simple, time-lapse piece. Quickly it moves and grows in complexity. That’s when you realize the brilliance behind it. The time this must have taken to produce. The precision of each individual shot. The natural-looking artificial light. The vision of the artist Oren Lavie.
What’s more amazing is the fact that this is Lavie’s first attempt at creating such a video. Real world elements are cleverly manipulated into this large-scale puppetry. And let’s not overlook the performance of the video’s star, Shir Shomron.
Lavie describes himself as a songwriter, director and writer of funny books for sad children. You can hear both the playfulness and the heart of the song ‘Her Morning Elegance’. It has a gentle, dreamy sound reminiscent of Nick Drake.
