If you were lost in a haunted carnival with its ghosts eating at your soul, this song would be the soundtrack. Patrick Watson and his band of fine collaborators have masterfully created music that is at once lush and disturbing.
This theme runs strong thru the album ‘Close to Paradise’ but is especially present on ‘Weight of the World’. Dissonance and imagery swirl in a mad dance and at times float precariously on the edge of falling but never quite lose footing.
The album has been in heavy rotation on my iPod since I got it.
