Petition to Stop Lame Debates

Lapel pin or economy? Faux pas or war? Which are more important?

A candidate’s patriotism, honesty and experience are indeed crucial. But once those questions are answered, it’s time to get on with what’s important.

Lapel pin or economy? Faux pas or war? Which are more important?

Yes these things need to be discussed. I’ve done it here on my site. The questions of a candidate’s patriotism, honesty and experience are indeed crucial. But once those questions have been answered, it’s time to get on with more important issue such as the war, the economy, healthcare and so on.

Of course, if a new incident were to arise which once again brought a candidate’s character into question, it should be dealt with but swiftly. These things should in no way be the leading points in a national debate by a major television network and they certainly should not monopolize nearly an hour of viewing time.

Schlubs like me can handle the trivial shit. Most people that read my site either agree with me or know where I’m coming from. I doubt my political rantings would change anyone’s thinking. The networks however should be more responsible.

From MoveOn.org:
On April 16, ABC let voters down with their abysmal debate. Bad debates aren’t just painful to watch–they actually hurt the country. Sign the petition telling media, “Enough distractions–ask about issues that affect people’s lives.”
