Celebrating the upcoming release of their new CD

Tonight at the Whiskey Bar (125 Washington St, Hoboken) The Fave celebrated the upcoming release of their new CD called ‘Tomorrow’s June’. Fittingly it was being performed in its entirety on this the last night of May. The Fave are a band that I think just keeps getting better. The songs are ever evolving and while the performances are getting tighter, their overall feel and presence on stage has gotten looser and more natural.

This comes from an environment of making music for the love and fun of it. After time went by with the band rehearsing, living, writing and just hanging out together all of the gears were fitting better and the moving parts more fluid. This also shows in an enthusiasm they themselves have for the new material. That feeling shines from the stage and infects everyone in the room.

Joining The Fave tonight was former Butterspy frontman and the emcee of The Peoples Open Mic Dave Entwistle on backing vocals. He had played a set of his own material earlier in the night but due to me mixing up the times, I missed it. Singer/songwriter Matt Azzarto also offered up a collection of his fine songs. Ending the night was the ever-energetic Lloyd United. This was my first time seeing them full-blown electric which added a very healthy kick to their show.
