People are actually dropping dead…
Not that long ago, I told a friend about how the summer heat this year is not bothering me as much as last year. I credited my new found freedom and reduced stress level as the reason. However, that was before we had four days in a row of nearly 100 degree weather with people dropping dead all across the country.
Living on the top floor of a brownstone, the heat has no where to go. And my poor Air Conditioner is working overtime but just can’t handle the pressure. So I sweat a lot. I’ll sometimes go out to a bar or store or bank just to bask in their coldness.
A few of us here in Hoboken have been tossing around the idea of moving to Seattle for a while. It mainly started as a need for change in life, dating, music and so on. But during the past few days, the high in Seattle has been 70 degrees!! The lows in the winter rarely get very low too.
I am sick of the extremes here in the shadows on NYC. The extreme heat, cold, noise, pace, anger, ambition. I am in serious need of a change. That change better come soon or I may lose my mind.
Man was it hot again today!! And where was my cat in all of this? Lying in the sun of course. What a little freak. Hopefully with the coming of tonight’s rain, the earth along with the rest of us will breathe a sigh of relief.
