I woke up today looking forward to a pleasant Saturday thanks to the weather reports last night. “Plenty of sunshine,” they all said. Yet I looked outside and saw nothing but gray skies. No biggie. The sun will come and burn this away, right? After all, the weathermen promised.
I was reassured by the morning news. “Plenty of sunshine!” they all proclaimed once again. So I went about my business expecting a gorgeous day ahead of me. But then, a noise. Like water falling on my fire escape. How can this be? Someone must be working on the roof or something. You know in that bright, lovely sunshine.
Wait, no it can’t be. Yes … it’s pouring fuckin’ rain out there. There’s a little river of gutter water flowing down the street and drops dripping from iron and brickface. Can someone tell me how I can get a job where I can be this wrong and somehow still not get fired!?
It wouldn’t be so bad except my good friend Nelson Pla was to have a big party celebrating the opening of his new studio Sessions At Pla today. I only hope there was some grain of truth to the weather report and the sun will come out soon.
By the way, the Sessions At Pla party will be tomorrow.
