Thirty Day Sobriety Challenge - Bonus Day
Watch as my life spirals into control
Yeah, I figured 'Bonus Day' adds a positive spin on the fact that I just can't count. I was tempted again today to start the celebrations. After all … I made it … I'm free and clear … it's time. My friend Joy called to see if we can toss a few back tonight but no, I can't. It's not even that I can't. I really don't want to.
I'll go out tomorrow night and have a drink or two as was planned. That was the way this saga was fated to be. If it were truly meant to end yesterday and me drink today … then I would have been more aware of that all along. And, as my friend Addie just pointed out … having an extra day is kinda like when a runner is at the end of a run but pushes on for another five minutes.
So I raise my empty glass to one more day. Feel the burn!
