Thirty Day Sobriety Challenge - Day 23
Watch as my life spirals into control
Could this be called the homestretch? Only seven days to go after today. I did cave in today and had a cigarette. It was only my fourth since starting this so that's not too bad. As I get closer to the end, I fear more and more that I'll slip back into my old ways. This challenge has not been as gratifying as I had expected.
I find myself constantly feeling anxious about drinking again. In fact I've already been planning my Day 31 Happy Hour. As time trudges along I'm feeling as though simply making it thru the thirty days will be success enough. Of course I know that this not true and that I need to focus on retaining a sense of control after the challenge ends.
Still this is the most difficult challenge of all. OK maybe last year's was more difficult considering I didn't make it past two weeks.
