High Speed Chase Reunites at Maxwell’s

Rockin’ out of tragedy in Hoboken once again

It had been a year since the tragic death of High Speed Chase’s bassist and friend Cory Baker. Many thought this marked the very end of the metal troupe. However, this band has battled back from adversity before. And on June 27, with Crewman Number Six bassist Paul Guzzo, High Speed Chase took their rightful place on the throne as the hardest rockin’ band from Hoboken.

I got a little choked up because I could see and feel the fun they were having on stage. Sometimes fun can be tough to come by. The night was special for me for another reason. In a moment of total coincidence, my 18-year-old nephew Scott was at Maxwell’s to see a different band. He got to see what all the hub bub was about with High Speed Chase and why they are one of my favorites.
