The Adventures of a Traveling Lighter

While at W.E. Fest 2006, I came across a tiny blue lighter with an apparent wanderlust. This is a mini-pictorial documentary of its travels.

Jody came to W.E. Fest from Chapel Hill. One day, during a cleaning session after a late night party at the beach house, I came across her lighter. She had gotten into the habit of tagging her lighters with nail polish because people tend to steal them. Whether on purpose or not.

I ran into her at the Soapbox Laundrolounge the next night and handed it back to her. She was thrilled to get it back, but asked me to keep it. All I had to do was keep her updated on its whereabouts.

I’m happy to report that the lighter survived the rest of W.E. Fest and is now safe, sound and for a little while was getting around with me. After our night at Fat Baby in NYC, it decided to retire (it was out of fuel anyway).

Below is a list of where it had been before retirement. The lighter now lives a quiet, flame-free life with me in Hoboken.
