Watch as my life spirals into control
I woke up with a wicked hangover today. No, no … I did not fall off the wagon. Instead I had a bit too many sweet beverages last night. As much as alcohol will dehydrate you causing massive headaches, the sugar and carbonation really wipes you out too.
Tonight I went to a place that is really better experienced drunk. Mars 2112. It’s set up to appear as … well … Mars. Yeah it’s cheesy, but can be fun. Especially during happy hour when the beer and wine is $2 and mixed drinks are $5. Plus there is a free buffet. Not much more than wings or other finger food that rarely lasts more than an hour, but still it’s not bad.
What is bad is drinking Ginger Ale in this environment. A group of us were there to celebrate our coworker Phyllis’s birthday. She tried to get us a discount for the spaceship ride, but it was already closed for the night. It’s one of those simulator rides like they have at Universal or Disneyland.
I would have gone to the ArtKore Halloween Party at the Goldhawk, but it’s a place where I really enjoy partying. So to be there on an obvious party night would be too much pressure. I know my breaking point and sometimes avoidance is the best course of action.
