Watch as my life spirals into control
So here I am … one day down … 29 to go! Not that I thought this would be easy, but my good friend Lisa added a twist to this earlier. Just in jest I said, “Ya think I can cook with wine?” I make a mean steak with garlic and a raspberry and red wine sauce. She said, “No … no alcohol whatsoever.”
That’s a bit silly I thought since all of the alcohol burns off in the process. However, I took this as another positive challenge because I will simply now have to search for a recipe to top that steak.
I also remembered back about 10 years ago, after a nasty night of drinking and arguing with my then girlfriend, my bout with sobriety lasted a full 18 months. I kid you not! It got to the point where friends and family would go out of their way to have sparkling cider on holidays to replace my champagne. Sad how that seems so unusual to me now. More proof that I need to do this. Who knows, maybe I’ll break that record of mine. Hey … ya never know.
