I first heard Canadian band Twilight Hotel in September 2007 when they stopped by The Goldhawk in Hoboken. The other day, I received an email from them announcing their nomination for a JUNO award. For those of you in who are not familiar with the Junos, they are the Canadian equivalent to the Grammy’s.
Twilight Hotel is being nominated for best Roots & Traditional Album of the Year: Group Category. Also nominated in that category are Elliot Brood and NQ Arbuckle, as well as their fellow-Winnipeggers, The Duhks and Chic Gamine.
Winners will be announced at the JUNO Gala Dinner & Awards on Saturday, March 28 and then during the JUNO Awards broadcast on CTV on Sunday, March 29 from General Motors Place in Vancouver, BC.
I wish them the best of luck. Below is an excerpt from my September 2007 review.

You can tell how much they enjoy working and writing together. The best description of their eclectic sound came from singer/songwriter Rob Nicholas who said their sound was like big band music, but without the big band.Read More: Hoboken Unsigned II
