‘bruxism‘ (2026) is the second album from sour tooth out of Nashville, TN. This is an emotionally charged, deeply dissonant, bombastic post-hardcore collection. It harkens back to a 90s style that inspired me then and I’m still drawn to today. I would catch bands from up and down the east coast, blasting my head and heart. Thirty-plus years later, sour tooth are among a new generation keeping it as raw and real as ever.
I have a soft spot for bands who — in this age of contrived, prefabricated slop disguised as music — pick up real instruments and use their hands and minds to create something visceral. Working hard to play music, not simply produce it. And these kids from Tennessee are out here doing just that. Spitting, screaming words as distorted feedback wrestles with explosive rhythm.
sour tooth are giving us big emotion and energy thru a mix of discordant waves and controlled chaos. Four players making a righteously huge noise with solid songs behind the volume.
