Celebrating the release of ‘Linden Calling’ (love that title by the way)
Maxwell’s (1039 Washington St, Hoboken) hosted the celebration of Stuyvesant’s latest release ‘Linden Calling’. By the end of their set of Minneapolis meets DC by way of Hoboken sound, I found myself smiling uncontrollably. It was my soul’s way of saying, “Relax. It’s OK. The answers are in the rhythm and chords.”
It had been a while since I last used my ‘big boy’ camera, so I decided to have a little fun creating some ‘special effecty’ shots. A scary thing happened at the end of the night after a few too many drinks. Halfway home in the pouring rain I realized my camera bag was not on my shoulder.
I was only a half a block away, but the run back felt like a mile. Like that scene in Poltergeist where the hallway to the son’s room kept growing longer as the mother ran to save him. Thankfully my camera was still hanging on the back of the bar stool when I got there. A few snickers from the staff and I was back out in the rain, camera safely snug on my side.
