My latest video edit for Men’s Fitness
There are days when I really don’t mind going to work. I normally complain about the raw video I’m given to edit. Most photo shoots offer a myriad of challenges in the editing process. An overcrowded set makes for obscured shots or (worse) an inexperienced camera operator simply misses obvious, great shots.
And then I’m handed something that practically edits itself. OK, let’s see … what do I have to work with here? A sexy actress strutting around in a see-thru shirt followed by posing in skimpy bikinis on a photo shoot for a men’s magazine. Oh, in case you didn’t know, guys are easy to entertain.
Aside from having a subject like Nadine Velazquez from ‘My Name is Earl’ (she was the maid/stripper Catalina) to work with, the camera work of Dylann Tharpe made life easy for me, too. She knew just when to be in close to the action and when to back off. Never too abrupt or intrusive.
All I had to do was find cool music and cut accordingly. So to say I’m pleased with this one would be unfair because it was just too darned easy.
