Lately I’ve been thinking that I need to cut back on my drinking. Not that I think I have a problem or anything, but my sedentary daytime combined with my leisurely nighttime does not bode well for my health. So every now and then, I try to detox for a few weeks.
And then this happens. Mad scientists are trying to lure me in with an innocuously named strongest beer in the world called ‘Start The Future’.
‘Start the Future’ by ‘t Koelschip
A Dutch brewer called ‘t Koelschip (The Refrigerated Ship) has created a beer that clocks in at a whopping is 120 proof (imagine the beer goggles that come with that brew). ‘Start the Future’ sells for €35.00 (about $46.50) per 1/3 liter bottle (just over 11 oz).
So far I have not been able to track down whether this concoction is available in the US. However, in what seems like a warning to the bloated American beer chuggers, the brewer does recommend that it be sipped like a fine liquor. It’s not to be served in standard beer glasses. OK, fair enough. Now send me my bottle.
Oh, wait … my detox. Right. Ah, it can wait.
