Enjoying cold evening sweets from this legendary Wildwood Crest NJ ice cream truck
Monster Cone Ice Cream Truck is legendary. As with much of Wildwood Crest, my family has been enjoying their cold treats for many years. The young lady serving us has been doing it for what must be over twenty years now. The company was started by her father. She recognized us, as we did her. There are three ice cream vendors that service the area. With two trucks, Monster Cone is bar far the most popular. No offence to the other guys, but we’re Monster Cone loyalists. One of my nephews felt bad and went to one of the other truck a few years back. He has since returned to the Monster side.
Like many, we’ll stand on long lines in the heat or rain with no complaints. You can track the position of their wildly painted green trucks on the web. Tonight we were taking an evening walk when my brother-in-law and I noticed the truck was a block away from where we were. So, instead of waiting for them to get to the hotel, we gathered everyone’s order and walked over. It was well worth the wait as a large family still managed to get in front of us. One of the little girls got a double cone that she proclaimed was bigger than her head (and it was).

I got a ‘Monsterwich’ — their version of a chipwich — which is so large, it’s served in a bowl and eaten with a spoon. This triggered my shoulder angel and devil. One glance from the devil and my angel was silent. I find solace in the fact that I always try to adhere to a healthier diet plan. So when I’m on vacation, the cheating does not feel as impactful. That said, honestly very little can keep me from enjoying Monster Cone.
Pricing is reasonable considering the convenience, size of the servings, and high quality of the ice cream. When you’re in Wildwood Crest, you should definitely track them down.
