A collection of trippy aural layers worthy of headphones, a dark room, and getting lost in a mood.
This was a random find on Instagram and it is a total vibe. ‘Only God Can Bench Me‘ (2026) by Another Stupid Dream is a mesmerizing mix of sounds and grooves. Short vignettes, ethereal and meditative. An interesting mix of electronic beats, vocal textures, and manipulated sounds. It’s the work of an artist based out of Austin TX named Adam Wood. Like a lot of the new music I find lately, there wasn’t much in the way of biographical information available. However, I did discover a couple of important details:
First; Proceeds from the work of Another Stupid Dream benefit The Hind Rajab Foundation, a group dedicated to achieving justice for victims of the ongoing genocide in Gaza. That in itself would be reason enough to support this artist. Of course the quality of the music is top-notch as well.
Second; The admiration Wood has for the philosophy of American spiritual teacher and guru of modern yoga Ram Dass. ‘Grist for The Mill’ is the last track of the album and it references the work Dass. The message explores how every life experience, whether good or bad, serves as raw material for spiritual growth.
“I can use every experience of my life as a vehicle for working on myself. To extricate myself from the attachments of mind. So that I can be a statement of peace, of presence, of love, of clarity.” – Ram Dass
The music is a collection of trippy aural layers with both contradictory and complementary sounds swirling about in a buoyant space. It’s relaxed, down-tempo electronic explorations inspire a spirit of introspection. Definitely a mix worthy of headphones, a dark room, and getting lost in a mood.
So, if you’re into good music and supporting an important cause, you can buy ‘Only God Can Bench Me‘ by Another Stupid Dream on Bandcamp.
Cheers!
