I just don’t understand how people’s brains are wired these days. It seems no matter what outlet someone explores, someone else will throw shade. Take for example the amazing work of surreal artist Kaitlyn Page (aka The Inner Observer). Yes it’s true that the first thing that came to my mind when seeing her work was, “How does she do this?” However, I never once thought it must be A.I. generated (as others have falsely claimed). I can fully appreciate that there are people who have talents that I do not.

‘Liminal’ by Kaitlyn Page
When the work of an artist comes across my feeds that I can’t explain, I don’t try to demean it, I try to understand it. This was the case when I saw Kaitlyn’s work. The colors, imagery, and vitality of these unique watercolor paintings lept from the screen. In each piece there’s a tangible sense of symbolism and spirit. Her impressive attention to detail gives each of them real life. Pieces can take hundreds of hours to complete and I fully respect that level of commitment to creativity.

‘Strawberry Daydream’ by Kaitlyn Page
Based in Erie Pennsylvania, Kaitlyn’s work explores the inner emotions of people and the connection they have to nature. She began her creative journey at a young age — playing the piano, dancing, and crafting. When she was seventeen, she ventured into painting with watercolors, taking inspiration from the world around her. Thirteen years later, her work is full of color and depth. Adding to her palette is her ongoing study of the inner workings of nature and human behavior. Exploring the psychology of thoughts and their connection to the greater universe.

‘Offspring’ by Kaitlyn Page
During the summer, Kaitlyn’s work can be seen at events throughout the country including Bonnaroo Music Festival in Tennessee, Electric Forest in Michigan, Secret Dreams Festival in Ohio, and more. Prints of her work can be purchased online year round as well as other products including apparel, mugs, tapestries, and more from her shop based in Fairview, PA.
A side note; I grew up in a small town in NJ called Fairview. It was a very urban setting on the outskirts of NYC. Quite different from the more rural setting of Erie County near the Ohio border I’m sure.
