‘Storm At The Brewery’ by Richard Brincklow
After my recent obsession with loud, harsh, punk and art rock, I needed to take a moment to relax. To reset my brain cells a bit. So of course I turned to the ever-reliable Bandcamp search tool and found this profoundly relaxing and mesmerizing record by composer/artist Richard Brincklow called ‘Storm At The Brewery’ (2026). This is cinematic, top-notch musical storytelling.
“I make piano led, jazz/classical infected electronica.” – Richard Brincklow
The juxtaposition of synth bass and ethereal melodies with piano and drums transports the listener to another realm. Picturesque and relaxing. Haunting and soothing. Conjuring mental images of nature. Sky, air, and sea. You get the feeling of traveling through serene scenes naturally. Building dramatically at times. Calmly settling the senses at others.
Brincklow’s ability to manifest such imagery stems from his rich history of composing soundtracks for British film and television. Jazz and classical influences shine through along with a desire to experiment with modern electronic music. It’s these qualities that give the record a feeling that’s part Vegas lounge, part meditative retreat, part Hitchcock film.
‘Storm At The Brewery’ is available now on Bandcamp.
Cheers!
